
The project partners Strong Sea Life meet the fishermen in Porto Torres
The seminar in which the project partners took place today, February 27, 2024, at the Conference Hall of the Asinara National Park in Porto Torres Strong Sea Life they met the local fishermen, event organized by AGRIS Sardinia โ Agency for agricultural research.
During the seminar, which was also attended by local authorities and stakeholders who are collaborating on the project, the current status of the activities carried out was presented.
The meeting was attended by Vittorio Gazale, Director of the Asinara National Park, and ISPRA researchers who together with the North Sardinia FLAG showed the first results of the project regarding the protection of the prairie ecosystems of ๐๐ฐ๐ด๐ช๐ฅ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ช๐ข ๐ฐ๐ค๐ฆ๐ข๐ฏ๐ช๐ค ๐ข and Coralligen. Once again, the importance of reporting and collaboration between local authorities and fishermen was underlined.
The Forestry and Environmental Surveillance Corps of the Sardinia Region and the Port Authority also intervened, respectively, on the issues concerning the areas and regulations for professional fishing and the current regulatory framework on the labeling of professional fishing gear.
On this occasion, Salvamare boxes for fish with microchips, created to reduce costs and waste and respect the environment, were delivered to the fishermen who collaborated on the project.
