Great participation for the event "Let's recover the nets lost at sea!"

The meeting organized with local fishermen took place last Saturday 11 February 2023 in Castelsardo at the "Il Crustaceo" Business Network Conference Room who, thanks to their contribution, made it possible to recover fishing gear lost on the seabed. On this occasion, some videos made during the identification and removal of the reported fishing gear were shown, recovery activities which are naturally always carried out with respect and protection of the environment.

The data that emerged following the questionnaires administered in recent months to fishing operators and boaters in the areas between Stintino, Porto Torres and Castelsardo, carried out in collaboration with the North Sardinia FLAG, were then illustrated. All the interviewees gave total willingness to collaborate within the Strong Sea LIFE project and their involvement also helped identify and locate the presence of fishing gear with geographical coordinates, mainly on rocky bottoms, hypothesizing the possible causes of dispersion.

Among the objectives to be achieved remains that of finding together the best and most direct method that can facilitate this type of reporting.

Agris Sardegna also presented new recyclable boxes for fish with microchips, designed to reduce costs and waste and respect the environment.
